wild things to be found high and low...high and low end fashion, that is

It's seriously about time

someone designed clothing inspired by Wild Things. (I've actually always wanted to wear Max's jumpsuit and crown for Halloween....) If you've been to Urban Outfitters down the street in the past few weeks (everybody raise their hands)

you've probably noticed the t-shirts, pillows, even wall art of Where The Wild Things Are.

A T-shirt with scribbly writing in the giant wild thing? Definitely snagging that. They even sell oldschool records of the soundtrack by Karen O- O! (Totally gratuitous fun fact: Karen O's crazy costume designer- that is, the costumes are crazy, though the designer behind them may be too- partnered with UO to design some truly ridiculous Wild Thing-esque costumes. What do you think of the ones below?)

Maybe less on the radar is Pamela Love for Opening Ceremony's sumptuous collection of Wild Things faux furs, tees, and all kinds of jewelry that comes clawed and toothed and taloned (oh my!) On their website, some of the coats, dresses, and skirts are even matched up with specific creatures according to fur color and shagginess?! It's quite funny to see pictures of models coming up to the waists of the big hulking Things next to them. Fashion does indeed have a (child's) sense of humor. And it's also very furry-creature-friendly.
